During my time on Spider-Man 2 I was lucky enough to be able to contribute to the challenging mission and open world environment of Coney Island.
I was able to contribute from the day one of the mission to the end, assisting the other 2 environment artists on the project.
My main responsibilities were the 2 rollercoasters (blockouts, gameplay layout, modular kits and textures, cinematic and animation support), the massive swing tower in the middle of the park, and assorted stalls with set dressing around various corners of the park itself.
Several of these larger features had to interact with each other in a particularly firey and tense cutscene segment, and required an intense amount of work with the VFX and animation departments.
This area of the world was a massive undertaking and had to be very performance as it was visible from quite a distance away. I'm very proud of the work we all did and there's no way this would have been accomplished without the contributions of a huge amount of talented people.
