Tuebor - Reactor Hero Asset
I created a destroyed version of the reactor from the normal version using Ndo to overlay damage and vertex blending of a charred metal material.

I created a destroyed version of the reactor from the normal version using Ndo to overlay damage and vertex blending of a charred metal material.

The material uses gradient mapping and masks applied to a 2nd UV channel to control the amount of destruction.

A hero asset that I made for the 3rd person action game Tuebor!

This was an important prop for the game, it's the critical piece of equipment that the players are tasked with protecting or destroying in the PVP and PVE gamemodes. It needed to be visually distinctive and legible to convey it's gameplay significance.

I created the high poly, bakes, and textures based on concepts and lookdev sketches from our concept artist and implemented in engine animation and a damage material system that visually showed the reactor's health to players.

The High Poly was made in a hybrid method using Maya for blocking in of forms and proportion, then most of the heavy lifting was done by bringing the meshes into Zbrush and utilizing alpha stamps to quickly add detail. Textures were done entirely in Quixel and Photoshop using NDo for additional details and to create an alternate destroyed version.
