Loops of Zen is a mobile puzzle game that I created some background environments for. The player is presented with boards of tiles and must complete all paths by flipping the tiles to progress. The puzzles are procedural and the art and presentation is designed to evoke a calming and zen mood while playing.
Texturing was done with a simple color palette texture that geometry was assigned to to fake shading. Simple AO was then baked into the mesh vertices to give some volumetric shading to the backgrounds. This approach allowed us to work very quickly while also keeping performance high.
